Vintage 50 would like to welcome its new
Brewster Kristi Griner

Kristi Mathews Griner is the new brewer for Vintage 50 in Leesburg, Virginia and is taking over operations for their 10 barrel brew house.  She anticipates both creating new brews and maintaining some old favorites.  She comes to V50 with four years brewing experience, having previously been the sole operator of the brew house for Hops Grill and Brewery in Alexandria, VA where she handled all brewing, filtering, and community outreach.

She is a member of the Pink Boots Society, an association of women working in the beer industry.  In November 2009, she was awarded the AB Vickers Scholarship for the Concise Course in Brewing Technology at Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL and completed the class with a 94%.  Her beers have been noted in the Washington Post and the Mid-Atlantic Brewing News.

She graduated cum laude from West Virginia State University with a B.A. in Literature and Philosophy, which is why she has twenty-four years experience in the restaurant industry. Ms. Griner has been a line cook, a bartender, and a manager, but likes brewing best.
